The SFL UG account is reporting that 2013 will see greater matchups still:
If you had not heard, the Super Fight League 2012 season culminates next week with SFL 13, Night of Champions where we will crown a total of FIVE Champions for the SFL!
In 2013, we are moving to a Bi-Weekly format where we will hold 2 events a month. Please do not think we are loosing steam, we are far from that, we are making this format shift to allow for greater talent, greater matchups and overall improved Super Fight League events. We will be looking to bring in more International talent as many known professional fighters have expressed their interest in competing for the SFL. We have spent 2012 educating the Indian population about the sport of MMA and featuring many debuts of Indian fighters. These fighters will continue to compete, while they develop, and we will increase the matchups, talent and everything involved with the SFL!
Super Fight League broadcasts its Friday Night Fight Nights, live each week from a specially designed arena in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, in front of an exclusive invitation only audience. SFL is now one of the largest MMA content providers in the world.
With title shots now in reach, Super Fight League’s Friday Night Fights are back with SFL 12, ‘Rise of the Challengers’.
One of SFL’s biggest names after his time on reality TV show SFL Challengers, Isaac Kario took the show by storm submitting two of his three opponents on the way to becoming the SFL Challengers Champion. Facing him will be 22 year old Egyptian Mahmoud Ashour, looking to cause an upset and make his mark on the global stage.
Co-headlining the event will be Ukraine’s Julia Berezikova and Spain’s Karla Benitez, two female flyweights looking to put themselves in the running for a future shot at the title. The fight is a rematch, with the two having faced off earlier this year in May when Berezikova won a controversial split decision victory after a three round war. This time they will be looking to ensure there is no need for a judge’s decision.
SFL 12 also sees the return to action of two of its knockout artists; middleweight Pawan Maan Singh and light-heavyweight Mohit Tokas, both of whom are coming off one-punch KO debut wins. Meanwhile, bantamweights Sharath Babu and Varinder Singh will be battling for redemption after both lost their debut bouts in the shows opening fight.
