Thompson vs. Pudzianowski changed to No Contest

Monday, November 28, 2011

At Saturday’s KSW 17 event in Poland, the rules in the two round fight stated that in the event of a draw, a third round would be fought to determine the winner. Jameså Thompson plainly won the first round against Mariusz Pudzianowski, and thus at the close of the second round assumed there would be a third or he would win.

When a decision for Pudzianowski was called, Thompson lost his mind, grabbing the microphone and snarling “F—— joke. Give Mariusz a big round of applause. Come on. What a f——- joke. I thought KSW was really trying to be serious. If you can watch that back and call that serious, then you’re f—– and KSW is going down the f—— toilet.” The final line was spoken directly to the face of KSW promoter Maciej Kawulski.

Now word comes that there was a scoring error from judge Piotr Baginski, and the fight should have been a majority draw, necessitating a third round. Since a third round is obviosuly not possible, the bout was declared a No Contest.
