Bader KOs King Mo in just 15 seconds, advances in Heavyweight Grand Prix
The main event of Bellator 199 was the last quarter-final bout of the Heavyweight Grand Prix featuring a fight between light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader and Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal.
Although both fighters are known more so for the wrestling, the fight did not last long enough for either to showcase that skill as Bader landed a strong hook in the first exchanged the dropped Lawal to the floor. Bader quickly rushed in and landed several more punches before the referee halted the action.
The 0:15 second knockout win tied the Bellator record for fastest knockout in the promotion’s history and advanced Bader to the semi-finals of the Heavyweight Grand Prix. Bader will face former UFC heavyweight Matt Mitrione in the semi-finals with the winner facing the winner of the other semi-final bout Fedor Emelianenko vs. Chael Sonnen.
