Cyborg responds scathingly to Rousey coach wish

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Ronda Rousey’s coach Edmond Tarverdyan recently said he hoped Rowdy would take one more fight, vs. Cris Cyborg.

“I know Ronda could beat Cyborg,” he said. “I know that. Cyborg is too slow.”

Immediately below is Rousey at her peak. She’s now 0-2 her last two. This is not a mean clip taken out of context, there are very many others like it. This one is in fact marginally less odd than many others.

Below is Cris Cyborg’s latest uploaded training session. Yes, she is having fun. Yes, Buakaw did it first. Yes, the Phuket Top Team facility looks tremendous.

And nope, Rousey is not too fast for Cyborg.

Cyborg is training for a fight with Holly Holm at UFC 219 on December 30, and declined the coach’s offer, with one exception.

“If Ronda wants to come back for a fight, I believe it’s better for her to fight Miesha Tate,” she said to Guilherme Cruz for MMA Fighting. “I’m in another stage of my career. I wanted to fight Ronda when she was psychologically well and confident.”

“Now, if she wants to make a good fight for the fans, we can make it at WWE. It would fit perfectly to go to Hollywood, and for me would be another challenge in my career.

“And something brilliant, her coach would fit perfectly in her corner in WWE, he’s nothing but a joke.”

And speaking of jokes, Sports Center didn’t know Rousey and Cyborg never fought.
