Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Championship are merging into Legacy Fighting Alliance, which is intended to be the “NCAA of MMA.” LFC held its final fight on Friday night – Legacy FC 63: Harris vs. Cobb.

The main event, Gerald Harris vs. Aaron Cobb, was contracted to be held at welterweight. In what may be a profoundly unfortunate record, Cobb weighed in at a reported 220. That is not missing light heavyweight by 14 pounds, which is ridiculously unprofessional. That is not missing middleweight by 29 pounds which is stupefyingly unprofessional. That is missing by 49 pounds. The English language lacks a word for how unprofessional that is.

The Oklahoma commission told Cobb to make 205 the next day, but he cut no weight. So the UFC vet Harris chugged water to make 208, so the fight could go on at heavyweight.

The was justice in the end. Harris hit Cobb not with his fist, foot, knee, or elbow, but with the planet earth. Then he offered a peace out and the final LFC fight was over.

Harris had not fought since beating Jorge Santiago via Unanimous Decision Decision at WSOF 4 on August 10, 2013. At 37 with a 23-5 record, Harris clearly has a lot of fight left. As for Cobb, the weigh in and the results speak for themselves.

The full video shows the full setup and celebration.

So Cobb got one of the most unprofessional weight misses of all time, and Harris gets one of the greatest slams of all time.
