In a stunning act of irresponsibility, Kelvin Gastelum has so egregiously failed to make his contracted weight for UFC 205 that he never even bothered to weigh in. As a result, the fight with Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is canceled. Gastelum’s repeated failures to make weight rob his opponent of a chance at the win money, and fans of the fight.

Gastelum, who never bothered to so much as show at the weigh-ins, made the pathetic announcement via Twitter.

Gastelum’s promise to not do it again absurd. This is his third strike at making the welterweight cut off. The fighter won The Ultimate Fighter at middleweight, and that is where he has to fight going forward, if he still has a job.

The fighter signed a contract to hit a certain weight. If he can’t do that, then he needs to find another line of work, where he can be fat and happy, or at least fat.

With the loss of the Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy fight, and now this one, the UFC 205 card is:

Main Card (PPV)
Eddie Alvarez (c) vs. Conor McGregor
Tyron Woodley (c) vs. Stephen Thompson
Joanna Jędrzejczyk (c) vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz
Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero
Kelvin Gastelum vs. Donald Cerrone
Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington

Prelim Card (FOX Sports 1)
Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stephens
Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Michael Johnson
Rafael Natal vs. Tim Boetsch
Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad

Prelim Card (UFC Fight Pass)
Jim Miller vs. Thiago Alves
Liz Carmouche vs. Katlyn Chookagian

It is not known if a prelim fight will be moved up, or if the main card will proceed with the usual five fights, rather than the six that was expected at UFC 205.
