During the build up to UFC 202, featherweight champion Conor McGregor slammed the WWE, calling them a bunch of p***ies, while making exceptions for dons like Vince McMahon and The Rock. That didn’t go over well with pro wrestling fans, and led Rick Flair to accused ‘Notorious’ of verbal swagger jacking and talk vaguely of retribution.

Next, McGregor doubled down, making pointed reference to fan favorite WWE superstar John Cena.

What’s the main guy? John Cena, said McGregor, as transcribed by Marc Raimondi for MMA Fighting. He’s 40. He’s 40 years of age. He’s walking around in a luminous orange t-shirt and a headband talking about nobody can see him. We can see him right there. He’s a big fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia mother f***er.

McGregor also slammed former WWE champion and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar, as well as interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who both failed PED tests.

“Fuck them both,” explained McGregor.

Brock Lesnar was not impressed, and during an appearance on the I Am Sam show, expressed his feelings bluntly.

“I take s***s bigger than that kid, alright,” said Lesnar, as transcribed by Adam Guillen Jr. for MMA Mania. “Come on guys, let’s get [real]. I know all you guys play f***ing video games and you live in this f***ing false sense of reality and s***. I’m 290 f***ing pounds and this guys is 145 pounds if he’s lucky and gets up and eats his f***ing Wheaties.

“If Conor McGregor wants to say some s*** to me and get his name out there more than he already has by dropping my name, I got about 10 words for him: Come here face-to-face Conor and say it to my face. Otherwise leave me and the f***ing WWE out of it. Because I came to your arena and kicked ass. Now, if you want and you are so f***ing tough, come to our arena and try to kick some ass.”

McGregor and Lesnar have been alternating record breaking purses. McGregor broke the $1,000,000 mark at UFC 196. Then Lesnar set a new record with $2,500,000 at UFC 200. And at UFC 202, McGregor got the last laugh, with $3,000,000.

Given Lesnar’s PED issues, McGregor’s record is likely to stand, until he breaks it.
