Ngannou’s dream opponent is Brock Lesnar
The next big thing in mixed martial arts, Francis Ngannou, appeared recently on the Top Turtle Podcast and revealed his dream opponent – former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar
“I’d always like to see the match between me and Brock Lesnar,” said Ngannou, as transcribed by MMA Fighting. “Two big dudes. I like that matchup. I’m excited for that kind of match as a fan. … I want to see that match.”
“He’s big. Huge, as you say. But he’s not stronger than me. I’m stronger than him. I’m the best striker in the heavyweight division and the more powerful guy. I’m also a talented guy and I will deal with that very easy.”
The truth is, Brock Lesnar is so far removed from mixed martial arts that six months of an anti-doping suspension are tolling – he did not even bother to stay in the testing pool. Probably Lesnar was too busy trying to figure the source of the failed test.
Next for Ngannou is heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, a fight that UFC president Dana White says could come as soon as UFC 220 on January 20 in Boston, Massachusetts
“If he tries to stand up with me, he will not stand up too long,” predicted Ngannou. “And I think he will probably try something. He’s a good striker, but he doesn’t know how dangerous I am.”
The Predator also offered a prediction.
“I always predict KO,” he said.
That is rational given his perfect UFC record. Ngannou’s first two UFC fights ended in the second round. The last four haven’t made it past the second minute.
The oddsmakers aleady have Ngannou as the favorite.
