As first reported by Combate, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes will defend her title vs. Raquel Pennington at UFC 224 on May 12, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This follows weeks of speculation that Nunes might face women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg, but she is booked to fight former Invicta FC women’s bantamweight champ Yana Kunitskaya in the main event UFC 222 on March 3 in Los Vegas.

Nunes, 29, is on a six-fight win streak, three of them title fights or defenses, and won three performance bonuses. She is currently the #13 ranked pound for pound fighter in the UFC. Pennington, also 29, is on a four-fight win streak, most recently over former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, at UFC 205, on November 12, 2016.

Both fighters enjoy strong support from their partners, who are also fighters. Pennington in engaged to UFC strawweight Tecia Torres, while the champ has been in a relationship with UFC strawweight Nina Ansaroff for four years.

Vitor Belfort vs. Lyoto Machida
Jacare Souza vs. Kelvin Gastelum
