Rest in Peace Jason Fairn, July 16, 1973 – February 15, 2018
Canadian MMA pioneer Jason Fairn has reportedly passed away. The news came via his social network, posted apparently by his wife, Alison Gene.
“I am at a loss for words and having a difficult time to say that on the evening of Thursday, February 15, 2018, Jason Fairn passed away,” she wrote. “Unfortunately I do not have any further details and I will try to update as much as possible.
“To his fans: It has meant a lot to Jason how many hearts he has touched in his short lifetime and I hope his memory continues to inspire you.
To his family, close friends and MMA Family: I will try to contact each and every one of you, or you can contact me through Facebook Messenger under Alison Gene and I can forward you my personal details.
“We are all God’s children. Never forget life is precious and I hope you do not take it for granted. Make sure you tell your loved ones you love them often, like Jason did for me.
“Please say a prayer for Jason. He is finally at peace and is watching over all of us as GOD has gained a very special and powerful ANGEL.
“I now have a very deep hole in my heart so please respect my privacy during this difficult time.
“God Bless you all.”
As further details become available, they will be shared.
‘Bonecracker’ fought from 1994 to 2010, and faced Guy Mezger at UFC 4 in 1994, losing by corner stoppage. He held multiple black belts including one in Aiki-Jitsu from his father, David Fairn; and he was a legendary street brawler. Fairn’s efforts over the years included personal protection, in both the USA and Canada.
