Rogan: Canelo and GGG not good fights for McGregor
On a recent edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, the MMA personality discussed Conor McGregor’s future, and sees more boxing.
“I don’t think [Conor is done boxing],” said Rogan as transcribed by Jed Meshew for MMA Fighting. “Look, he went the very first fight against the greatest ever and he didn’t look too bad. If there’s a legit, big fight – say if Canelo Alvarez steps up and says that he wants to fight Conor McGregor, [Conor] might do it.”
However, Rogan added a caveat.
“It wouldn’t be a smart move,” he said. “The difference between Canelo and Floyd – Floyd was just a brilliant boxer. Canelo is a murderous puncher and he’ll f*** you up. He’ll hurt you.
“[Golvokin] is not a good fight for him either. Neither Canelo nor Golvkin is a good fight for him. They’re terrible fights for him. Those guys are different.”
However, there’s also a rematch with the bird in the hand.
“He’s f**(ing Floyd Mayweather,” said Rogan. “He’s one of if not the best boxer ever and Conor did catch him with a couple things. . . They should [rematch]. Why not?”
Whoever McGregor boxes again, it will be for a fortune. Just please, Elvis who art in heaven, whatever you do, don’t make it with Paulie Malignaggi.
