Rogan: I predict McGregor will be stripped of belt for not defending

Friday, January 12, 2018

Conor McGregor never defended the featherweight belt he won at UFC 194 on December 12, 2015. It was stripped after 350 days. ‘The Notorious’ has yet to defend the lightweight belt he won at UFC 205 on November 12, 2016. That’s 425 days ago. On his latest JRE MMA Show podcast, UFC commentator Joe Rogan offered a prediction for his current title.

“Here’s my prediction: My prediction – Conor doesn’t fight for a while,” said Rogan, as transcribed by Mike Bohn for MMAjunkie. “They strip Conor. Tony and Khabib fight for the world title.”

“I think they’re going to strip him, because Conor’s got $100 million in the bank, and he’s having fun and talking s***, and he’s going to keep training. And he’s going to make a big fight in the future, but I think Khabib and Tony is the big fight and f***, they might even do that one in Russia. They’re talking about doing a big fight in Russia.”

So NostraJoeamus says McGregor loses the belt and then Khabib Nurmagomedov fights Tony Ferguson for the unified title, maybe in Russia. And McGregor keep talking trash. That sounds plausible, even convincing.
