Romero to Bisping: I love you, see you soon, boy

The #1 middleweight contender is now established.

It was supposed to take all month. #2 contender Chris Weidman fought #4 contender Yoel Romero at UFC 205 on Saturday, and two weeks later #3 contender Jacare Souza was to fight #1 contender Luke Rockhold. Whoever had the best win would get a shot at division champion Michael Bisping. But Romero recently won a split decision over Jacare, so barring a spectacular win over Rockhold, paired with a blanket over Weidman, the Cuban had the edge over the Brazilian in the title fight tournament.

In the meantime, Bisping was angling for fights with former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre or hardcore fanbase hero Nick Diaz at UFC 206 in early December. Then Rockhold got injured and Jacare offered Bisping a fight, but it was declined. Then at UFC 205, instead of a blanket win, Romero had the HOLY F@$%ING $#!@ moment of the night via flying knee.

So the next middleweight title fight is Bisping vs. Romero, and The Count got the ball rolling, with Romero still in the Octagon. Bisping on the big screen flipped off the Soldier of God, who replied with nothing but love.

“Yoel, take a look at the big screen,” said commentator Joe Rogan. “Michael Bisping’s giving you the thumbs down.”

Bisping was indeed, then added the finger.

“I love you,” said Romero, blowing kisses.

Then Bisping gave him the double finger, as he mouthed “f*** you.”

It helps to read Romero’s words in the casual threatening accent of Tony Montana.

“I love you guy,” said Romero. “I love you guy. You say something like this to me, and now I say you. I … LOVE … YOU. See you soon, boy.”

Michael Bisping is one of a handful of the best trash talkers in MMA, but Romero, with extremely limited English, gets the win in this round.
