Long, long ago, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey was a Judoka. She was incredible, becoming the first American to win an Olympic medal in women’s judo since its inception as an Olympic sport in 1992.

Then she was bartender, and reportedly an excellent one. Rousey was also homeless for a time; at one point she looked up at the television over the bar, saw women’s MMA, and thought, “I can beat them.”

She could, spectacularly. Rousey went on to become the biggest star in mixed martial arts. She called herself ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey, an homage to pro wrestling great and black belt Judoka Roddy Piper.

While still fighting, Rousey secured several roles in Hollywood productions. She was an epic Judoka, good bartender, WMMA G.O.A.T., but her acting reminded not of Sir Laurence Olivier or Jackie Chan, but maybe of Chuck Norris in a lesser vehicle, like The Cutter.

Now Rousey has returned to form in the WWE. She’s excellent at it as you can see in this clip from a recent addition of Monday Night RAW. And there’s nothing easy about professional wrestling.

As a result of the flagrant rule breaking, Rousey has been suspended by the WWE for 30 days. This is likely the same punishment Conor McGregor will receive from the UFC for attacking a bus with a hand truck and injuring two fighters to the point they could not compete.
