Tim Kennedy has a fight

Friday, August 12, 2016

UFC middleweight Tim Kennedy has not fought since a hugely controversial, Fight of the Night winning loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 178 on September 27, 2014. He has spent the time since advocating for a cleaner sport, developing his Sheepdog Response, Hunting Hitler for the History Channel, appearing in the veteran-made, crowd-funded, star-studded zombie apocalypse movie “Range 15,” and otherwise being the consummate badass that he is.

Now, during a Facebook Live appearance, Kennedy announced he will be stepping back into the Octagon. Although no opponent was named, the fight appears to have title implications.

“I have a fight,” said Kennedy, as transcribed by Michelle Tan for Army Times. “I can’t tell you anything about it, the UFC has to announce it.”

“It’s going to be big. [Current UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping would have] “no choice but to defend his title against me. After this fight, you can’t say I shouldn’t be the champion.”

“I’m in shape, I’ve been training for a fight, I knew I had a fight coming up. I’ve been training non-stop.”

The fighter also encouraged fans to download “Range 15” which will be available for download on iTunes and Amazon on August 16, and is available for pre-order NOW on iTunes.

“Right now it’s the No. 3 iTunes movie in the USA,” said Kennedy. “Hollywood wants this movie to fail. This is veterans making a movie about veterans for veterans. We want this movie to not be No. 3. We want ‘Range 15’ to be the No. 1 purchased movie on iTunes.”

There will be guns.

Kennedy also discussed Sheep Dog response.

“Sheepdog Response, we train law enforcement, military and civilians on how to not get murdered,” said Kennedy. “In three to four weeks, we’ll go to Dallas, but here’s the tricky part. A lot of law enforcement can’t send their guys to these courses. Not only can law enforcement not afford the tuition cost, sometimes they can’t even afford the ammo or the gas to get there.”

And lastly he discussed Hunting Hitler.

The second season will air sometime in “the November time frame,” explained Kennedy.

“This season is sick,” he added. “It’s amazing, it’s unbelievable.”
