UFC Fight Night 104 fighter official weigh-ins start today at 10 a.m. ET (9 a.m. local Houston CT time). The weigh-ins take place conveniently at the UFC host hotel. The event on Saturday takes place at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card and late prelims are broadcast on FOX Sport1, the early prelims stream on UFC Fight Pass.
These official weigh-ins are closed to the public, and there will be no second, night time ceremonial version.
The main event is The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung vs. Dennis Bermudez. TKZ has been gone for three years, during which he fulfilled his mandatory two years in the South Korean military, which has universal military conscription due to ferociously tense relations with Communist North Korea.
Fighters used to weigh-in in the early evening. Unfortunately, the body does not always rehydrate within 24 hours, leaving the brain more susceptible to injury. Many fighters took IVs in an attempt to rehydrate sufficiently. However, when the UFC selected the US Anti-Doping Agency as their independent drug testing body, the use of IVs was prohibited, as it can mask the use of PEDs. In response, the UFC has instituted a new, safer procedure, wherein fighters are given a two-hour window in which to weigh in, on the morning of the day before the fight.
