If he was bailed out then he wouldn't go right back to prison...

County jail.. and there was no bail.

Dana said "Release him to our custody with 2 cops, let him fight then send him back"

(I'm paraphrasing.. I'll find the exact quote and edit)

He also said (paraphrasing) he could've bailed out Manson with the numbers they were agreeing on and if Jeremy didn't show up to court then he was going to hire Dog the Bounty Hunter to find him.

yeah, I got my quote from the same interview apparently.

Just pointing out (imo) that it's a real scum bag thing to do. Let the justice system run its course.. just because you have truckloads of money, doesn't make you above the law.. Stevens should have to go back to Iowa and face the music. If he's innocent, great, set up the fight after.

I hope the gentlemen at the Hennepin county Sheriff's office (as well as whatever county in Iowa) laughed at Dana's greasy proposal.

Why? There's plenty of wiggle room here. The crime he was arrested for was from LAST YEAR (so this menace has been roaming free for like ten months... good lord he must have a trail of bodies behind him!). I'm betting they only picked him here because they knew exactly where he'd be at that moment, since it was well-publicized, and it saved the department man-hours as opposed to trying to track him down at some gym or whatever.

He was obviously not a danger and its silly that they treated him like a flight risk and were completely unwilling to negotiate reasonably- many guys in county have an opportunity for work release within 24 hours of their arrest. I have no dog in this fight but I agree with Dana here, someone here had a hard-on to keep him locked up and no one knows why yet.

White talks about Jeremy Stephens’ arrest in detail, Dennis Hallman’s release, responds to questions about recent lower than normal event attendance numbers and much more.

Do you have any realization how fucked up your post is?

Your using Stephenson fleeing the state as prove that he wasn't a flight risk and no danger to someone?

"someone here had a hard-on to keep him locked up and no one knows why yet."

Actually everyone knows why at this point, he has a felony warrant for a violent crime.

Agreed with the first part.. they knew where he'd be and picked him up there.

No one gets to bail out until a bail hearing, which he won't get until he's in Iowa.. Hennepin County is just holding him until the county in Iowa can pick him up. There shouldn't be ANY negotiation, he should return to Iowa to face charges.

I can tell you for a fact that no one gets an opportunity for work release until after they've been formally charged.. There is no conspiracy about why he's still being held, this is MN, not Hollywood.

sneaky ass stuff, waiting until basically fight night to arrest Jeremy. I respect 99.9% of all law enforcement, but there's always that one or two dickheads who got beat up in highschool and now they have the gun which equals mr. power trip. take the gun off sucka.

Nothing sneaky about it, they had a chance to grab a guy who they had a warrant for and they did so. The UFC does not override the law, period

Nothing I have seen suggests he knew there was a warrant out for him. I'd GTFO after a bar fight too. And no, he definitely is not a fucking flight risk. Don't be asinine. Yeah, Jeremy Stephens is going to take a boat to Bogota and assume a new identity! HURRRRRRRRRR

it's really sad that people can have such strong opinions that don't even know the first thing about the situation. and big fucking LOL at people who even think that being involved in the military automatically makes u the victim in a situation like this. get fuckin real. i'm still 100% Team Lil Heathen.

believe half of what you see and none of what you hear, in my opinion.

Not saying its the truth, its just what's been talked about. Lots of people in the Des Moines area heard about this when it happened. people that don't fight or trane included.

I have one question though. Why is he being arrested for an 2011 case. Shouldnt his lawyer handled this by now.

Still the timing of the arrest is extremely suspicious. I do hope Stevens was never involved in any altercation and the whole situation will blow over. But if he did actually assault someone and there are no circumstances explain his faulty judgement he should be punished for it. MMA fighters do carry extra responsibilities not to get into fights with other people.

If it would get you anywhere one should really sue the police since they obviously causes monetairy damages. But the burden of prove and the added hassle would be to much.

Having said that it is extremely uplifting to hear that Dana took the effort to support his fighter and tried to repair the situation for us fans. This is something that is rather unique and for all the people disliking Dana (myself not one of him) you got to respect him for his actions.

Now i do not know what to think about the actual contends of the charge and where the blame lies for this ''penetrating'' the fightcard on Fuel (the police, Stevens and his lawyer or both) but it is very uplifting to see Dana stand behind his fighters and the fans.
