White: Reports of Rousey's pay are incorrect

Ufc should pay their win bonus' based on the odds of the fight.  So if Ronda is favored 15-1 that Carmouche should get 12 to show and 180 for win and Ronda would get her 75 and 75 (or whatever it actually is).

Honestly though, how does Ronda's pay effect us? Who cares. I get that people think she doesn't deserve the money over other fighters. But it's not like she's personally stealing money from them. Paying Ronda less money doesn't give those other fighters more money. It's just that those other fighters deserve more, but this isn't Ronda's fault.

Fwiw, i was in line at office depot last night and there was a pro MMA fighter on the cover of a magazine. Not Anderson, not Jones, not GSP or Cain and it certainly wasn't Hendo or Machida. Yep, Ronda.

She clearly gets more mainstream print, radio, and TV coverage than all male MMA fighters combined. Will that translate to viewers? We'll see.

My 24 year old female cousin who weighs approx 100 lbs. asked me about her over Xmas break. Never discussed fighting of any kind before with her. She wanted to know when she was fighting so her and some friends could watch. It's going to open up a whole new market.

I have no probs with Ronda making that if she is.  Good for her.  And Liz isn't doing too bad either.  Didn't Keith Jardine, after fighting 6 times in the UFC, headline a PPV with Chuck and only make 7/7.  Liz is way ahead of the game right now.

No it's not a valid point. Nobody is buying a PPV to watch Todd Duffee. That's just the way it is.

See this is the mentality that most fans have. The difference between the way you view it compared to the way a business minded person (Dana, etc..) views it is opening the eyes of new viewers. It's not that in MMA she's a bigger star, it's just that as the nation/ world gets on yahoo or espn and I'm sure the list goes on and on, they see a women getting exposure to the highest degree. All I'm saying is, it makes sense if you think about it. I have no basis for the pay nor do I care but IMO that's the ufc's angle so to speak.

Well, good for her if she's getting a PPV cut. And if other fighters aren't getting those numbers, then they have to be smart and approach this carefully to try and get Zuffa to give them more.
