MT. Didn't K-1 change their rules because of Buakaw? I always thought that was messed up. Phone Post

Anderson Emelianenko GOAT - whichever has the least rules.
Pretty much this, so Muay Thai. But I really enjoy K-1/Glory rules, as well. Phone Post

Thai rules.

True Muay Thai with clinching, trips, etc. is the most complete stand up art.

K-1, but bring back knees from the clinch. Overeem is gone, everyone is safe now.

Thai rules often go along with full Thai traditional ceremonies (music, preflight rituals, etc.). I totally understand why Muay Thai purists like these things, but they detract from getting a wider audience. Beyond that, there can often be a bit much technical clinch work. It can be boring in the same way top control can be boring in the UFC. K1/Glory rules are generally more exciting, but I agree the restrictions on knees from the clinch are too stringent there.

The old K-1 rules when Buakaw first won the title was the best. Some clinching with knees allowed.

K-1 rules by a longshot.

Muay Thai is great but the clinch work slows things down. And let's face it, people want to see fighters throw bombs and K-1 promotes that.

people generally say "Muay Thai" with the reasoning that its "a more complete ruleset" , but in terms of a spectator sport, K1/Glory rules blow it away. People who have watched both, unless they are a hard MT aficionado, will opt for K1 nine times out of ten.

faster pace, harder hits, more KO's, better hands etc

knees from the clinch would be nice ; Glory has the 3second/active clinch rule which seems to be a step in this direction
