Nobody's ever dominated Nick like that before. Not just grappling but the punchstat numbers too.

Edelweiss - GSP hit Diaz a lot harder last night than he hit jay Hieron in the fight you posted. Diaz is just a tough opponent to finish.

Are you serious? That last straight right, left then right hook gsp dug his heels into the mat and went for it. All he landed last night that looked devastating butt wasn't were his superman jabs, that was speed only. He hasn't put serious power behind his punches since the fitch fight

dubate -  The problem isn't GSP, or Hendricks, or a bunch of other guys. The problem is that judges score a takedown (even one that results in no damage) with the same weight as a strike that rocks someone. If you look at the Hendricks v Condit fight, how many times did Hendricks do anything once he got the takedown? A takedown with no punishment delivered is the same as two fighters circling each other but rewarding the fighter who initiated the circling because due to his "aggression" he got the other fighter to do what he wanted. Phone Post

You have a point but gsp oustruck diaz  210 - 80 so even with no ponts for a takedown, he still wins....

What the fuck does that have to do with anything I said? If you have an opinion you are just dying to share, just start your own thread. That way you wouldn't have to quote me in order to tangentially talk about why you think GSP won. Phone Post

The Unified Rules scoring needs to change, and refs need to recognize stalling and break it up faster. Phone Post

If this fight was fought in Vegas he would of been booed out of the arena.

Pancake Syrup - Yes because one of the biggest ppv sellers retiring is good. GSP can have boring fights sometimes but doesn't deserve the hate he gets

George deserves EVERYTHING he gets.

George used to be hungry. He used to fight differently. He gained a fanbase. He gained support and a push for the top. He got support, and in return he delivered exciting fights to his fans. He deserved fans, and a title shot.

Then GSP started getting money, and more money. Deservingy so. What GSP stopped giving back, is exciting go for it hunger mentality that he once had. In return, he gives lackluster fights that show he's not trying to finish his opponent but simply gain an edge and ride the time limit out. Therefor, he gets criticism, and rightfully so. However, GSP also gains a huge paycheck.

GSP is choosing money, big big money, over honor. It's his choice, he's choosing the money, so he deserves to get called out on it.  If someone pays for a ppv he's on, GSP gets money, the fan in return, gets a disappointing performance. The fan deserves the right to voice his displeasure, because GSP doesn't give a fuck all the way to the bank.

D2 he is NOT "choosing money, big big money, over honor." Frankly that is a ludicrous assertion IMO clearly.

If he gets the PPV buys and W's, who TF are we to call that being sell out?

You disapprove of the modern game (how some play it for want of points). I myself favor UFC 1 rules straight up so I understand how you feel.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

By taking minimal chances he just showing a high IQ, or at least there is no way to disprove such assertion sir.

But in Georges mind, he calls it excellence. He excells in all aspects of the fight except for passion. Jackson has taught him that passion for anything clouds the vision and gets in the way of excellence. So everything that GSP does in the Octagon is clinical. He never "goes" for it and because of that he is the champion. However, because he refuses to risk it all in order to finish the man in front of him he will never be the greatest. Being a better wrestler than the guy in front of you isn't the same as finishing the man in front of you. Outside of Chael after his first fight against him how many people can honestly say they want to see an immediate rematch with whoever Silva fought last. That is the difference between being the champ and being the greatest. It doesn't have to be a knockout, but Rush won't normally go for a submission if he thinks there is a chance he could lose position. The bottom line is you are either keeping your eye on finishing or you are looking to see how much time is left in the round so you can accomplish whatever you need to do in order to win that round. Sometimes? He hasn't had a good fight since fitch. He refuses to be the gsp we used to get amped up to watch. We will never see fights like that again. And I also forgot to say, some of you are the bigtest hypocrites in the world. Shit on guys like askren, riddle, shields etc. But praise gsp why? Cause he can do a superman jab then follow up with a leg kick as he moves to the side? Guraentee you if that was fitch, askren or anyone else like that that fought diaz last night, you guys would be shitting on them like there is no tomorrow. Hell, if it was gsp that fought mills instead of riddle that night you guys would have had multiple orgasms, but it wasn't so you shit on the others. Major hypocrites

Riddle/?? The guy doesn't even wrestle much, he just windmills the air

The other comparisons are also stupid for their own merits, but what do you mean no good fights since Fitch?

Literally his next fight, BJII, was a barn burner lol

If hendrix wrestles him I csn definetly see him winning. Hell, kos could have possibly won if he used his wrestling more instead of using his shitty striking. I can see hendrix pulling a gsp on gsp
