Definitely, if it's a good gym it is well worth the drive. My home gym is 20 min and I cross train at a place 30 min away and another place an hour away a couple times a week. Phone Post 3.0

Is this a fucking question. I've never had a commute under 45 minutes in my 14 years of training. Phone Post 3.0

I've done it basically every day for 5 and a half years. From my drive way to my academies parking lot is exactly half an hour. Plenty of other schools near by but I would never leave my school!

If the place is good, then its worth it.

I've been driving much longer than that for well over a decade now to where i train.

30 minutes is nothing major. If you live less than 15 minutes from your gym, you're practically spoiled. I've traveled as much as 2 hours in one direction over the years. Only issue I see is getting "enough" permission from the wife to be gone that long. "Oh, you can drive an hour round trip for that wrestling/karate crap, but you don't have time to remodel the kitchen?!" Phone Post

not trying to be mean, but its a idiotic question. The real question is whether or not its fine for YOU. If you can make the 30min and its not effecting your personal life then do it. Depending on circumstances for people it may or may not be feasible, but asking the question like that without other factors (are you married? Is the wife a bitch regarding your commutes to train? Are there any places of equal instruction nearer than that place? Is there public transportation you could use to save on gas, etc etc) is pretty damn open ended.

Hell most of us have had to travel one to two hrs if lucky to see a instructor on the regular, never mind having to travel six hrs or more to see them every few months depending on location. So yeah for most its fine, but that does not mean everybody is made like that.

I travel just under an hour each way for training, and while it sometimes affects my attendance rate, I choose to go there as they are my family and we have a great team. I had the opportunity to train at a gym 5 minute away but chose to train at the better gym 45 minutes further away.
