Dan has done a few works, but I think people should concentrate on Pride event works. Severn has never done a work that hurt a promoter. Either the promoter knew, or it was his own event. If he did a work with Bonello, then fine. If not, give Bonello some props. I'd hate to beat Severn and have it dismissed as a work. In fact I fought Severn in a VERY legit match in my hometown in 2001 and we went to a draw (no judges) alot of people in my hometown claimed it was a work. I don't know where they dreamed that up anyways because most of the rednecks here are too dumb to even follow the sport close enough to understand a worked fight. My reply when asked about it is :"Why yes I did enjoy having Severn elbow me in the eye so many times that it swelled shut"

what happened travis? its just that there is a lot of specualtion about him being a worked fight here in australia last friday night, basically to put another guy over and build him up for the promoter. the fight was against tony bonello.

I dont know how a guy could live with himself knowing that his win over "The Beast" was a work. That'd suck

as a fight fan, i'm spewin. I've followed the sport pretty closely for a yr or so now, and i love it. i've only really just started training, and it was my first set of fights i had seen live, so im really not in a position to call work or not, and the ppl on here who saw it seem to be divided. i hate feeling like i may be being taken for a ride thinking it was legit if it wasnt, but dont wanna take anything away from bonello if he truly beat him.

If it was a work, why was it so short? I guess you could look at it this way : If it was a work, the shorter, the better. I looked up Bonello's record and all of his fights are very short. How did Bonello get Severn's back for the choke? Severn has never been rear choked before, but he does give up his back alot if taken down.

the fight went like this: they sussed each other out a bit and then severn shot in, forcing bonello into the corner. from there severn threw some knees, got double underhooks, then suplexed bonello across the ring. bonello apprently says he was almost knocked out on impact, and doesnt remember the throw. he gained his wits pretty quickly and popped up, where severn shot in again and tony scrambled and took his back from there, sinking in the rear naked for the win.

I've fought Severn 3 times legit, and once in a work. The WEC one is hard to want to count because I did agree not to strike on the ground. I had a broken hand anyways.

Very Impressive! It looks like with all the fights that you have had, that it would have killed you,or cured you, and this point, I would say that your cured.

No I'm actually feeling quite fine. I don't stretch before I work out, I'm never sore, and I heal very fast. Life would be good if everything I ate didn't go right to my gut!

I`m not sure if you took my post the right way or not. What I was trying to say is........That since you have not been killed that your cured, meaning doing fine.

crowbar: I took it the right way. Thats why I said I wish I could at least get rid of the gut. I hate sit ups. jaydub: aren't the hometown rednecks always hating on me? Bunch of fags. I wonder how many fighters have the same problem.

Well like Ive said before....I would get worried if I couldn't see my dick anymore. It doesn't help when you got a 9 incher. I can still see it. Actually I was down to 224 when I fought Pele, but then I had some shit come up where I had to take 2 weeks off, and low and behold, here I am at 240 lbs again.

With whom/how do you train these days? Are you mostly working out or also working on technique?

I have to admit that I get to the gym on average 2-3 days a week. I usually just grapple, but lately I have been able to get some guys to do some boxing and kickboxing. I train with some decent BJJ guys. All of the really good ones are too small. There are 2 or 3 guys my size, but I toss them around pretty easy.

Would you consider moving to actually be near a more developed MMA team? Or too fond of hanging out with your redneck neighbors? :)

MFS is 2 hours away. I have the tools that I need to fight, but I just need to be in better shape. Plus the psycho wont leave and I dont want to be away from my daughter. Plus I do like the rednecks.

Travis, I have always thought of you as the unsung hero. You have more fights than all the top 5 ranked fighters combined. How the hell do you last? Who could forget that psycho fan that stalked you a few years ago. That was some scarrey shit! mb

Ah.. Family. It gets to trump everything else. Good luck in getting the right mix of motivation and external support to drive your training. I'm always hoping to hear you've buckled down, since you can be such a threat. Best, Jonathan

Severn has worked several fights. It is a fact and not a rumor. Don't forget his work with Kohler as well. I like Fulton becasue he has the balls to tell the truth about a lot of things that some other fighters would never say...
