Market doesn't like swings of political change, especially when the corporate welfare machine known as the Republican Party is being ousted. Still, the marginal difference between the Democrats and Republicans shouldn't have the affect that it does (on the markets) because it is not like key monetary policy is going to change dramatically.

"Say hello to new taxes. Keeping more of my own money totally sucked anyway." LOL. You think the massive spending increases were going to allow you to keep that money for long? Don't get me wrong, as you know, I hate both parties pretty well, but this myth of Republicans putting more money in the pockets of the people should be stopped.

J- they did put more money in our pockets with the cuts. Their mistake was spending like liberals. We can keep the tax cuts, stop the wastefull spending and the defecit would come down. The very idea that 30% is not enough makes me sick.

I agree with you in some sort of in-principle, pie-in-the-sky kind of way, but they always claim they want to decrease taxes and spending, but then they always decrease taxes and INCREASE spending, which necessitates, at some point in the future, increasing taxes again to pay for the spending. When such behavior is systematic, I think they lose the right to reasonably call themselves the party of lower taxes. (Before anyone jumps in talking about Laffer, I'll say now that the Laffer effect is not in play significantly at these levels.)

Yeah, repubs love bailing companies out.  Good thing a democrat-controlled Congress will never do that.
