Yep, this car has the potential to be a monster...it will definately beat the 2007 and down m3's but the new 2k8 m3 is being upgraded to the 400hp v8.

BMW downgraded its hp output on paper to 300hp. Every car forum I'm reading says its closer to 327hp and supposedly faster from 0-60 than the current M3.

Why is that? The new M3 has a V8 rated at 400 HP.

Yea, its supposed to be faster 0-60 than the current M3 not the future. I'm also reading that the M3 will actually output around 414.

OIC, I thought the current M3 already had the v8. These BMW are getting very expensive.

Right, the new M3's are coming either late this year or ealry next. They will have the 400+hp enginges and a more aggressive design then the current 3 series. Plus the base cost is going from around $55k to around $70k. Way over priced since if you can afford $70K you might want to then just look at the 6 series.

These BMW are getting very expensive. BMA has always been super $$$ compared to anything around it. All cars have been going way upp, the Elantra I could sell 3 yrs ago for $8k brand new with pw, pl, pm, a/c and a tape deck can be had today for $13k with no a/c and no radio. Way over priced since if you can afford $70K you might want to then just look at the 6 series. Or a Z06, 911, 4-5 yr old Ferrari etc

I understand inflation etc, still BMW is starting to get into exotic territory, with their performance and price. I guess if I was in the market for a true performance sedan I'd get a M3 or M5 however.

The M5 is a beautiful car. I just read today in the Roundel (BMW Club Mag) that the M3 debuts this fall to a 420HP V8. That's a pretty sick engine but I'm not crazy about the body style redsign. It keeps some elements from the new 3 series but it adds things like hood air intake slots which I think make it look kinda goofy.

apparently the 335i with a procede chip can keep up with the m6 up to about 3rd gear. the e90post.com forums have a father and son that posted a thread on this. the 335i is no joke. it has a lot of potential.

im in australia, and the 335 has only been out for 6 months. ill wait for another year or 2, and look at getting a 2nd hand one. my ideal setup would be alpine white, with 19" hre rims, with black centre, the procede chip, a nice quad exhaust with the alpina rear bumper. it would look sick

It looks like this PROcede chip is worth the money from what I'm reading. I wonder if it invalidates the warranty?

im sure a stealership will do anything they can to welch out of their obligations. but if a fault occurs that is totally unrelated, then they would have a hard time getting out of fixing it, eg suspension

Hey that forum link has been a great resource but it has led to some consternation. I've got my ordered in Sparkling Graphite with a black interior but after seeing some of the users posting their pics now I'm not sure about my color choice. I may switch to Monaco or Montego blue with a dakota gray interior. damn!

yes, the e90 forums r prob the best forums for australian owners, and it has a good american contingent. there r a few other bmw forums around, but i like that one. if u have seen the pics for the white e92 m3, then u would lean towards the alpine white. the black cf roof just sets it off. personally, im going to look at a alpine white, get a set of 19" hre with black centres, and a quad milltek exhaust with a nice m3 body kit, get the procede chip and maybe a gruppe m intake. a nice clean buildup imo

The Euros get better color choices than we do. I don't get that, it actually pisses me off. I really like the Jade Grey with High Gloss Piano black trim for the interior. I called my dealership and even BMWUSA and they both said there was no way to special order that interior combo for the U.S. After looking at the colors in person yesterday, I'm definitely going with Montego Blue but again, I'm not sure on the interior color. Black, Beige?

i thought the idea of "bmw individual" was so u can take ur favourite colour into them and they can make a car for u with that colour. it obviously would cost a lot, but still

Well here in the U.S. they are super strict on color (colour) combinations. Unfortunately any changes here are after market. BTW, when do you plan to get yours?

well, i wont be getting one for a while as i just laid down major dollars on a house. i was probably going to wait for the revised edition anyway, i tend to stay away from the first series of the new models anyway. the revised editions usually get more goodies, plus a lot more aftermarket gear will be available. plus i enjoy my s2000, its served me well for the past 5 odd years
