It's a pinky (infant mouse).  Snakes can be taught to take pre-killed food.  Usually though some have to warmed up (dipped in hot water), or waved around on tweezers to get them interested.  My python is lazy and sometimes doesn't even strike if he knows it's a pre-kill.  He just slithers up and starts swallowing.

Elvis is correct. When I started in with snakes years and years ago I did live feeding but I can't imagine doing anything but frozen thawed now. You can buy in bulk so you're not always making trips to a pet store and if your snake isn't hungry you don't have to hang onto a live rodent, you just re-freeze it. I also used to breed my own rodents and that is extra work and they smell really really bad. Plus, not bite injuries to the snake. The snake in that pic is only between 15" and 17" long.

Yeah I used to breed my own too. More of a pain than the monetary saves are worth.
