http://renu.citizenre.com/ One way more homes can have solar power is by renting. This company will install and maintain a solar power system on your home. The rental price is your current cost of electricity. That rate remains constant throughout the length of your lease. While your utility rates may go up, their rate remains constant. They aim to generate as much electricity as you ordinarily use. You remain connected to the grid, and your meter runs backwards during the day as electricity is generated, and forward at night when you use the power company's supply. There is a $500 deposit on the system. (It is refunded with interest at the end of the lease.) We have signed up for them to come out and evaluate our home. We have a large, sloping roof with a clear view of the western sky. Most of our southern exposure is tree lined.

From their FAQ: http://renu.citizenre.com/index.php?p=edu_faq Q. I understand that your manufacturing plant is not completed yet, is that right? A. Correct. The first systems will be ready to install in the middle of 2008.
