LOL, the one day the pitching keeps it together, the lineup gets shut out. Unreal. I'm seriously starting to hope they lose. This is just too pathetic for words.

All we need is to sweep the fish at Shea and have the Phillies drop just one.

The Mets are a FAIL. I was supposed to go to the game tomorrow but I'm considering calling my buddy and saying I've changed my mind in protest of the Mets craptacularity.

Well, they're kicking ass today, but they'll need help from the Nationals to have a chance.

We need to make some additions to the pitching staff in the offseason. The bullpen needs an extra arm or two and another starter would be nice since Glavine is going bye-bye and I don't have too much confidence in Pelfrey.

Just looked it up and Glavine has a $9 million PLAYER option for next year. I hope to God he retires because a 42 year old mediocre pitcher soaking up $9 million of payroll next year is a nightmare scenario.

They're thinking: "Well, this guy is going to be a free agent after this year, and he obviously doesn't want to stay here since he turned down our 4-year, $80 million extension offer. Maybe it would be better for us to get 4 of the Met's top 6 prospects and let them worry about trying to give him the 6-year $150M deal he seems to want. After all, he is almost 30, just came off a down year (by his standards anyways, 15-13 record, gave up the most HR in the league), and we probably wouldn't contend this year WITH him anyways, since Cleveland and Detroit look pretty tough, so may as well build for 2009-2010. And if Francisco Liriano does what we think he's capable of doing, we'll be right back to having one of the elite LH starting pitchers in the game and it won't seem like such a big deal." .......or something like that.

considering yours truly only posted once on it i'm gonna have to go with a no on that one. and just for the record i hold no malice towards tom glavine whatsoever. we all knew he was always a brave at heart but he played his time here 100% and with class... we got to watch a HOF'er, i have no ill will towards him... he just wasn't cut out for NY but he did his best given his age while he played for us. he said recently "Looking at it from a baseball standpoint, there haven't been too many, if any, lower or more upsetting moments in my career, " Glavine said earlier this month. "I was angry how it went, extremely disappointed ... upset, embarrassed. You name it." the guy is a class act. he just couldn't get the job done.
