I'm looking at purchasing a Ford Fusion V6 SEL AWD. I'd love some input on the car, what you guys think, whats good/bad, etc. I'm in canada, have x-plan through work, and it seems like the best car I can get for under 30k (getting everything but moonroof and nav). Has 0% financing also. Thanks.

The one I'm considering is the 3.0 V6 , thats the biggest engine they sell for it.

I highly suggest you wait for the 08 model with the 3.5l v6. Trust me. it is a fantastic engine. One of my friends is a platform mgr on the Fusion. Mark

thanks for the advice mark, the only problem is that I really need a car pretty bad. I currently drive a 91 BMW 525 and its a major money pit, I've put $20k into it in up keep alone. It's got major problems, and a new car would be real beneficial. I just dont know if I can wait that long.

I knew nothing about this car but drove one on a recent business trip. I was suprised at how downright decent the power was. However, mine had 10k miles on it and the engine sounded rattly and there passenger front tire had a funny knocking/wobble thing going on. Kinda scary, but people do beat on rental cars so I'll reserve judgement.

Fusion is a great car. Handles and drives great. Good gas mileage and passing speed/acceleration. Rides smoothly too. If you would drive a bigger car, I would seriously consider a Lincoln Town Car. You can get a low mileage '06 for less than 30K out the door. Luxury tuned suspenion, safety, and good fuel economy. Most reliable powertrain imaginable. You can get the 3.5L in the Ford Edge, and you can get a pretty nice one brand new for under 30K. Also Lincoln has a nice car called the MKZ that starts right around 30K. You could get an '06 Zephyr for less than that with a few miles on it. Damn nice car with luxury tuning and all.

Cashmere is a nice color on the Lincoln. Silver and Beige are nice too. White is always good.

The 3 litre duratec is a great engine, and there is an easily available twin turbo ubgrade package based off the version of the engine used in Noble sports cars

If the 3.0 is great, the 3.5 is fantastic. Mark

We don't get the 3.5 over here, but if it's built around the same quad cam setup it should be right in the butter zone with the near 600cc swept volume per cylinder

I drove a Fusion for 4 days this week on a business trip. It felt a lot like my 3.5l Maxima, just "cheaper". There's a lot of plastic in there. Pretty bland car, but it rides and drives pretty well. I was pretty impressed by the stock stereo as well.
