What style bike do you want? Cruiser or sporty? I would actually get one of these before I bought a Rebel but I am not a fan of cruisers yet, maybe when I get in my 50's. http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/AN650K7/Default.aspx Or this as a sport bike for a first time rider: http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GS500FK7/Default.aspx You will get bored with the Rebel within two weeks.

Standard answer for a sportbike is a USED ninja 250/500, GS500f, SV650, ninja 650r or honda 599. No idea about cruisers. Maybe a honda shadow 750? Used because many people drop their first bike and many people sell the first bike within a year or two. this is just smart. The models listed because they are easy to ride and allow you to learn without overwhelming power amplifying your mistakes. The SV and 650r can continue to be ridden fast by even experienced riders.

I like the Ninja 250. The GS500FK7 looks nice too. I'm going to a couple places tomorrow to look around. Thanks for the advice.
