a hula popper has to be the ultimate way to bass fish,i've caught bass on many different baits, but none are as exciting as a hula popper,my buds say i'm the hula popper master, does anyone else here have great success with them?

I've never caught anything with a hula popper, I used to slay pike up north with a zara spook though. T,he best lure I ever had was some top water thing I bought at a local bait shop years ago. I used to slay everything with it.  I let somebody use it once, he didn't snap his swivel closed and through the thing right off, where I watched it slowly float towards and over a small dam.

I don't know what it was called and every time I go in a store I look through the lures for one but haven't found one yet. It's a medium sized green/yellow lure, with a blade in the back, and a odd shaped mouth part.

Damn I miss that thing.

Something like this.....

ha..nice paint work huh?  anyway, it's similar to a lot of stuff, but the particular size, shape, make of it etc. I thought was perfect as I caught a lot of fish on it. Bass, N. Pike, Bluegills even, everything would hit it.
