Trying to find out if anyone is Rolling or Teaching at Camp Victory. Looks like I might be heading up there for about 4 to 6 months of my extension.

DJ, There's a good bud on mine down there, Capt Chris Conley. He works at III Corps, and he is always looking for folks to roll with.

As of now, the Mitt Job has me maxed out. I am wondering if it is a sign of depression if you don't even want to go eat. So right now I am only back on liberty to sleep or eat. The rest of the time I am out running around with the IA.

What's the latest and greatest for the Baghdad area?  There's a few of us from looking for a place to train near Striker.

If any guys from Cropper are on the board, please shoot me an email.

Fort Bragg Combat MMA

Today, I loaded up 3 full-size wrestling mats heading to BIAP with the 18th Corps Command out of Fort Bragg, with full intent to begin running organized Modern Army Combatives training very soon. Once everyone gets settled in, I assure you the training will be active. We are very lucky to have a very dedicated and motivated command group in 18th Corps that love to train.

Keep an eye out for the 82nd Airborne Division mats in the gym being put up. The 18th Corps Deputy Commanding General will be in control of them and will ensure they are given proper attention. The tough part will be keeping him off the mats :)

There is a chance I will join them in July and be running Level I and II certification courses.

Hope this helps.

Jeff, that is great news. I wish we had that stuff a couple years ago. When I was on the Liberty, the only thing going was H2H and tai-chi. And the gym managers absolutley FORBID sparring (I thought that was particularly funny, seeing as how we were in a combat zone and all).

The problem w/ the whole "gym manager" thing is that KBR forgets that they work FOR the military. They don't run or own shit! We got that fixed quick down in Talil...even got the MWR supervisor fired. The new crew that came in after that was awesome.

Fort Bragg Combat MMA

I promise you that will not be an issue at BIAP with these mats at this gym. 18th Corps is taking over command of MNC-Iraq. They are putting in all the work to get the mats, equipment, etc. over there because they plan to have it in use.

Sit back and relax, Fort Bragg is in charge in BIAP! Give it a little big, and good things will happen.

JR - We have a good organized bjj program going on here at Balad. Classes are M/W/F @ 2000-2130ish. Classes have anywhere from 8-23 guys/gals depending on missions and whatever else is going on. Head instructor is a high purple under Odie Neto. Plus there is another purple and several blues and a couple of amateur MMA fighters who are all training together. Good times...
