Good luck to Marc & Kong at the competition this weekend.  They have been training extremely hard and know they will do well.

I want to say thanks to everyone for helping me get back to where I was a few years ago. I felt that I had a long road ahead but this weekend really showed that it might not be so long. Kong and I had an exciting time at the Pendergrass Tournament, which I surprised myself. Kong got first in adult intermediate superheavyweights and first in adult intermediate absolute (he put on a good show). I lost my first round, but then won my second round which gave me third place in adult beginner heavyweight. Again, I want thank everyone.

Congrats to Team ROC for a huge showing.

It was great to see our guys do so well.  We hope to have more show up at future events as our guys are training well.  Lots of good competition coming out of NC - some really tough teams attended this event.  Great to see the sport growing around here.

These team standing are always so biased just based on numbers. We had so many people there I don't think there was a way how we couldn't get first. I agree, there is a lot of good competition comout out of NC. For a small tournament, I was really impressed with the skill level. I was in an advanced division and had 5 people in my division which is pretty large for an advanced division for a smaller tournament. I know of another advanced division that had 7 competitors too.

It was well run. US Grappling ran the registration and they have thier stuff together. The only issues were competitor issues by not filling out their cards correctly or dropping out of divisions later in the day. I tihnk everything was done by 3:00. Can't beat that! I think the next one will be in Oct and will be a gi event. I will keep everyone posted.

Go figure - competitors not getting their stuff in order!!!!!  Sounds like you guys made up for the slack.  Look forward to hearing about the next event.
