Howdy, I just recalled reading a couple of these in the series years ago, but I remember enjoying them quite a bit. The premise is (something along the lines that) Casca was one of the Romans who stabbed Christ in the side and as a punishment God said he would be immortal until the 2nd Coming. Many books in the series.

i only read one or two of them. The author was a special forces soldier in Viet Nam if memory serves.

Phra the Phonecian by, Edwin Lester Arnold was the model for Casca (or so I thought after reading both). Lester's book is better though.

Yep, the author was the late Barry Sadler, who wrote "The Ballad of the Green Beret".

If you like Casca, check out Phra the Phoenician by, Edwin Arnold. He's the original eternal warrior. Great, little read book.
