In order to make a positive permanent change in the alignment of your body, the change must be made on a neurological level. The only way to make a change on a neurological level is for your muscles to work and they must do it on their own. If you look at many aspects of our modern society, people are constantly trying to find some way to achieve results without or with minimal work. Unfortunately, as with most endeavors in life, there no short cut and positive permanent results simply require work and effort.

The alignment of your body is determined by your muscles. Your brain has a "memory" of your body's alignment. Unless a new pattern is created, is a consistent presense, and strong enough, your brain will always resort back to the pattern that exists in its memory. The only way to create a new positive pattern is for the muscles to actively work/move. That's why for example, you can't make a permanent change in your bodies alignment through massage and those to get massage will feel they need it frequently. You can also look at it this way...Let's say you want to get good a certain physical movement. You need to do a lot of reps on your own. You can try to be limp and have someone move your limbs for you and mimic those movements, however, unless you do the reps on your own, you will never create any muscle memory when it comes to doing that movement.
