i have a full grown ball python and a one year old cali kingsnake. what else can i feed them besides mice/rats? i know kings have a penchant for eating other snakes, but will it eat a baby garter snake? my snakes eat live prey and i'm getting bored of feeding them rodents.

You might have to stay bored. Mice and Rats are going to be the items that are easiest to get and are best for the pet in the long run. Your King will eat an Anole if offered.

i'll try the anole, just for the hell of it. my ball python is a very fussy eater, so i guess i'll stick to mice/rats for him.

Don't feed your snakes wild-caught animals, if that is what you were thinking. That is a good way to get parasites. Even freezing wild-caught prey will not ensure it is safe.
