Shit - release of Book 3 ("Dead And Alive") has been put back a year (now Spring 2008) cos (according to Wiki): "The most likely cause for these postponements is Hurricane Katrina, as Dean Koontz's Frankenstein is based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The author is not willing to change the setting of Book Three; the publisher (Bantam) is not willing to release Book Three, especially so soon after a major disaster; most importantly, neither party is willing to lose profit by just cancelling Book Three."....Damn....!!!!

Nah - it's not a re-write - dunno what you'd call it - set in the present day working on the premis that Frankenstein's experiments resulted in him becoming immortal and his plans for building a better world populated with "new men" - ok, yeah, that does sound lame when you say it like that but, if you like DK; it's good - if not, then it's not for you.

It's good. I thought the destruction of New Orleans would fit in really well with this trilogy. But I can also see the reason for waiting. Kind of an eerie coincidence.

Yeah - one article I read said the publishers were concerned that the residents of NO might be offended by the fact that the storyline kinda suggests that the decadence of the city means it deserves what's coming to it (in the book)......

"What Wikipedia article are you quoting?" The original "quote" I posted is from here = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Koontz's_Frankenstein The bit about not wanting to offend NO residents was from another article which I read about the same time but can't find at the mo....
