Any good? Wondering if I should wait for it to come out in paperback. If its real good I'll buy the hardcover, as I am a big Tolkien fan. If it sucks, paperback it is. Thanks for all replies.

Great Book! I have all of the History of Middle Earth books by, Christopher Tolkien, I read the CoH as part of that series, the book is much better. I liked CoH so much because I think you can see from it what JRRT had in mind for his work, a dark fall (1st and 2nd age) and triumphant rise (3rd age). Some valid criticism of Tolkien was regarding his depiction of evil, the lack of darkness in his work. This book puts that criticism to rest. Good job Christopher Tolkien! You did both yourself and your father proud!

Just finished it lunchtime today - excellent story - well written/adapted - with a real "edge" to it.
