Pittsburgh native James Brasco of Team Popovitch in Ft. Lauderdale, makes his MMA debut at World Extreme Fighting on Friday, August 10, when he faces William Parker of Team Fighters Edge in Lakeland, in a middleweight fight at the Osceola Heritage Park in Orlando, Florida. The 32-year-old Brasco has wrestled for 22 years, earning multiple accolades on the mat. Listed in the USAW Hall of Fame of Champions, Brasco had a 127-10 high school record, which earned him membership in the WPIAL Century Club, and over 100 wins in college. Brasco is a Duquesne University amateur boxer. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt made his submission grappling debut at the 2001 Gracie Worlds going 2-1 in the professional division. He is a multiple-time NAGA advanced division champion, a Kumite Classic champion and a Grapplers Quest USA Team Trials invitee. His ability to adjust styles easily was evident at the 2004 AAU Grand Nationals, as he won each the Folk Style, Freestyle and Greco Roman 197 pound divisions. Brasco won the 2006 ADCC Amateur Open Advanced Championship.
