wiki mentions that the GX (the SUV between the RX and LX) will have a 570 (guess from the Tundra) for 2009, but another site says that the GX will be phased out and replaced by a new RX with an optional 3rd row... anyone hear any rumours? (not shopping for me, 3rd row is key)

I would check whether the 5.7 is going into the toyota version. If so, then expect a lexus on the same platform. I'm still not sold on the Gx470 platform with it's steering vibration problems and driveshaft problems that make you think you got rear ended just as you stop.

thanks it's the size and reliability of the GX that has me interested, the cost of the LX is too high, and the RX doesn't have a 3rd row option/would have no room for luggage if it got one anyway I haven't driven it, so not sure about the problems you mentioned. However, I assume that there is a re-design of the GX that is coming, no? At least it is due for one, which would make the 570 a logical thing to do when it comes (unless the RX gets upsized and the GX phased out of course...which is also fine) I wonder if Toyota would just drop a large V6 into it as well for a fuel efficient version (relative to the 570).

I'm actually tossing and turning between a LX570 or an AMG C63. Both available approx March in Australia. I have 4 kids so I'll either grab the 570 for the family or get the wife a people mover and grab that speedy little merc, which seems incredibly good bang for buck, compared to it's big brothers in the AMG family. wife drives a GX 470, Lexus smooth and kids are safe. 34K miles no problems no steering vibration or driveshaft problems as poneyboy mentioned. No problems at all, I dont read car reviews if this is what has been complaints about this model but can say as an owner the car runs flawless as most Lexus do. The front seats should go back much further with this size car, I'm 6'2 and would like to have them back further then they go. Japs are still making cars for little Asian drivers when most the buyers are American, which doesnt make sense. My only complaint about the car

I payed attention to 55mph yesterday and their was nothing, I never noticed anything ever the low tire light is has been on for 3mo and will not go off, did all the resets and filled tires. They'll do anything to get you to bring these cars in. Thats the only problem we've had

Here in Australia we are getting the LX570 with the5.7lt v8 petrol engine. Toyota will make their top of the ranger 200 series landcruiser (same base as the 570) with a 4.5lt twin turbo diesel. We don't have the GX here but I think it's based on the Toyota PRADO?? Justin

To do the tire light reset, you have to reset it on a straight street and then it doesn't take the initial reading until you are going a certain speed so just resetting it at home and driving away won't help.

I don't think we have the Prado here...Prado is the right-side driver version... we got 4Runner which I think it is based on. Mark, why do you say the 4.7 is better? Isn't it a bit underpowered with no better fuel economy?
