hey, I have two buddies that are going to be at huachuca in march and are looking for certification courses, and BJJ/MMA courses. Is there anyone that can do both level 1 and 2, and who would you recomend in Tucson. Thanks.

DeBrazil has the best rep as far as Tuscon goes.In Sierra Vista there is Lee's Karate and Cardio Kickboxing.Despite the name they have a good little program that is beginning to grow. They have just expanded their gym and have a full size ring now.The head instructer's name is Otto.He is a brown belt under the Machado's.On post there is Oscar Moore who is a civilian now but a former ranger who went through level III before getting out.SSG Lindsey who I believe is still the head combatives instructor and a level III.There are a few others that I believe are level III and there are a group of guys who train at Barne's field House on M W F roughly from 1730 to 2030 made up of Army level II,Navy,Airforce and some civilians. So there should be plenty of opportunities for you friends and no one is hard to find if you ask around. The number for Lee's is 520 266 0141. Hope this helps.

I've trained w/ Martin Escobar at DeBrazil's...he is very good. His classes focus mostly on BJJ rather than "no-gi"...although that could've changed. I will be attending Level IV in Oct (Matt...get the damn class on ATTRS already! lol!)...and then returning to Tucson in March/April. I'd be happy to help certify your guys level I and II.

Are you in the reserves Alheymann? If you are really intending to have a level II class when you return from IV I would be interested.

No I am not.I wish I was. They had a post tourney to determine who they were sending.I was in the field all the way up to the day of so I missed registration and weigh-ins.Some good guys are coming to rep Huachuca though.I really plan on trying for next year if I can ever get a straight answer on when and if we are deploying.
