I figured it was either the valve seals or piston rings. Heres the deal, car has been uninsured for a year now and so i decided to remove the head and get it machined cleaned and valve seals replaced as it had a problem of burning oil on startup and for a few seconds. I would start her up every few weeks now and then and it seemed to burn oil even longer and longer as it idled. Anyway, i replaced the head, intake and exhaust gasket, headgasket but still burns a little oil(not even close to the amount it did) and after a minute or so it starts to idle like its about to stall.Whats the diagnosis guys,i havent adjusted the timing and the fuel in the car is a year old could that be it? BTW its a 90 honda civic. thanks for any help.Later

oil control rings. you should have dropped the oil pan and pulled the pistons when the head was off.
