I was reading this paper here on Imagery Analysis: http://blog.wired.com/27bstroke6/files/bh-usa-07-krawetz.pdf and also watched a video on a Content-Aware Image Sizing (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-SSu3tJ3ns). I have a few questions ... At the technological level ... what are some good imagery software (open source or pay) for manipulating, and analysing, images? My knowledge on the topic is fairly substandard at the moment but I'm assuming I should start at photoshop and go from there? Is there any other technology (hardware or software) that I should take a look at that pertains to imagery forgery and forgery detection with an aim to move into more esoteric areas like propaganda and fourth generation warfare. At the creation level ... What about the techniques and art behind imagery manipulation? Are there any serious communities that study and discuss the deceptive and manipulative elements of modern photos and video? Kinda like a more crafty version of Worth1000, Fark or the SA goons? I'm looking for something along the lines of a modern Han van Meegeren (the vermeer forger who had a laser-like attention to detail when creating his forgeries). Any ideas would be great. Thanks for your time. **Ok this will be the last cross posting to a sub-forum. I didn't realise there was a photoshopground, I thought 'On the Fridge' was the PS ground.*
