I am going to plate a CRF 230, not really a Supermoto but if I had a lot of money I'd definitly get one. Probably a hopped up WR400. Those are some pretty good hooligan bikes.

A guy I used to work with bought a totally hot roded KTM that could pull wheelies at any time and shot flames out of it's muffler. He ended up eating shit on the backroads but he's lucky he didn't die.

There is a guy at work that has both a pimped out falco and a KTM 520. Bastard. The KTM smells like a dirtbike, fumes everywhere within a 30 foot radius. I guess I'm not thrilled by the idea of a supermoto. You can't ride them long distances, and if I want to rip around and pull wheelies ad slide around on a high powered dirtbike I'd rather do it on dirt. No cops, lightpoles, etc...

Here in Hawaii we have crappy roads and crappy drivers. It is sometimes neccessary to drive over monster potholes, slide under semis, drive on sidewalks to avoid cars turning left in front of you etc. Supermotos have their place.

I love the BMW Megamoto, but it's way too expensive. I am contemplating the Ducati Hypermotard. We'll see what kind of year end distribution I get. This is me taking one for a test ride.

^^^^^^^^^ Aprila SVX 550 is a beast of a bike. Not an every day bike but its stupidly quick and a great fun bike to ride.

Ok, now I've been reading up on these and might be getting the point. They weigh like a hundred or more lbs less than a sportbike, have just about unlimited lean angle (look at the duc pic above) and have dirtbike torque but streetbike brakes and grip. Might make for an awesome commuter. BTW-the guy at work has an KTM 525 exc, I parked next to it this morning.

I wouldn't mind selling my Suzuki SV650S and getting a supermoto bike. That Aprilia is supposed to be awesome.

The Aprila is great when it works. I have just started (a month ago) at a Suzuki/Aprila/Moto Guzi dealership and the Aprila has reliabillity issues. Its not a daily ride type of bike. Its a race bike that is street legal. Its got a 1/4 turn throttle as standard and that will catch a few people out. Fast as fuck but hard to ride.

I'm not interested in hard to ride bikes, so I'll be skipping that one then. I probably will end up not getting a supermoto, but it is a blast to think about it.

Super moto is a blast. You crash and usually just break a lever or bend a bar. When i crash my racebike, it makes a serious dent in my wallet. I reall hoope to get one soon. Im thinking of the husky most likely so I can ride it on the street every once in a while.

Something about a supermoto is a hooligan. The more I talk about it the more I want to build one. Probably a WR 400.

I heard a stock WR 400 pulls a low 13 second quarter mile. That might seem slow but it runs out of steam fast as it hits 80 MPH. I usually don't ride much faster than 60 MPH here so it would work for me. I could have bought a street legal WR 400 a few years ago for $3400. I wish I had bought it, I might be dead now though.
