mine is a hard fucker.  7500 from the tips, slope of 143, greens that are normally running 11-13, over 80 DEEP bunkers, #11 in best new courses (which has everyone pissed off), and did i mention it was long?

check it out www.fallenoak.com

where do you play?

My course is a Nick carter design, pretty short, bentgrass greens and fairways, rolling hills, easy to walk. They keep the rough fairly long-- Course is 6400 from the tips,126 slope,70.4 rating-- so you can score on it. The greens are FAST-- you don't want to be above the hole. Pace of play is 4 hours even on busy days. An added benefit-- This is the home course to Zach Johnson,2007 Masters Champ. Elmcrest Country Club.

Not member here (they don't have memberships), but I play Green Lakes State Park quite a bit (<$50 w/ cart). It's closer than the course I'm a member at. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, opened 1935 18 hole regulation length course Municipal golf course 71 par 6,212 yards 70 rating 123 slope Blue grass No water at all, but this is a hilly, tree-lined bitch. Bad shots are penalized harshly. As in, your drive sliced a little, good luck, you know get to lay up for your 200 yard blind approach shot. I'm a member at Barker Brook Golf Club and it's a bit easier, but still tricky. It plays like two different courses. It was originally opened in the 60s as a nine-hole carved out of a forest and requires dead nuts accuracy. The back nine opened in the 80s and is almost wide open (the trees are starting to mature now), but requires some bomb hitting. The par 4 450 yard 18th is almost always into the wind with a nice bunker right in front of the green. 18 hole Public golf course 72 par 6,388 yards 71 rating 119 slope

golf digest just ranked us the #2 new course.  i'm sure it was all because of me since i caddied for their group the days they were out, so that makes ME the #2 new course in the country.

golfweek has us at 11, but you stay on the list for 3 years so we'll move up.  hopefully hit the top 5 next year and #1 the year after.

Having just gotten back into the game 4 months ago after a 15 year layoff it's tough to call any course my "home course" but the one I've played the most since my comeback is Redtail.

The 18-hole "RedTail" course at the RedTail Golf Center facility in Beaverton, Oregon features 7,107 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 135.

I love this course.  It's very beautiful and challenging, and the greens are brutal.  I have only broke 90 once here.

AC:  Winters suck for Golf.  Not impossible but we get a lot of rain from November through March.  I played last weekend but the course was saturated.  Definitely winter rules.  I tend to hit the range 3-4 times a week when I can't play.

On the upside there are a ton of courses, many of them very good.  My recommendations: Pumpkin Ridge, The Reserve, and Redtail. There are a ton more I haven't played yet.

Animal I think you would love Oregon. The rain is the only thing that would get you down there.Hardly any snow. One of the most beautiful states in the country.Thats where I am retiring at.
