What is intelligent monkey or smart monkey? I am assuming it is a variation of crazy monkey. Can anyone give me a brief a description? Thanks.

"Smartmonkey" is the internet handle I have used for about Ten Years on various forums.

A "Intelligent Monkey" is someone that realizes they don't need a life coach.

Matt, Maybe I used the wrong words or maybe I am just totally clueless but wasn't there a post about Karl Tanswell (sp?) using some variation of CM?

Just kidding with you.

Karl's anti clinch program is very unique. He calls it 'keep it standing' or jokingly "intelligent monkey". Many of our MMA athletes use it often, and it meshes well with all the clinch on the cage stuff. I believe Karl is making a new DVD on it? And you can also find clips and threads on all the above in our members forum:

Matt, LOL I was interested in finding out about the anti-clinching material and the intelligent monkey stuff and it turns out that it is the same thing. Thanks.

Karls material is top notch. Matt, Life coaching is necessary for those of us with a credit card and a need to be led.... follow the yellow brick road and pay no attention to that man behind the curtain. LOL

It's the RIM (Rather Intelligent Monkey) :) All life coaches should work towards the client NOT needing a life coach. Unfortunately it isn't that way right now. It's like what psychology used to be (psychoanalysis).

I get what you're saying Jorx, although depending on what approach you're talking about that analogy is backwards. Some psychoanalysis was / is actually a move away from "ego" psychology, the goal of which was to have the patient emulate the supposedly strong, well-adjusted ego of the therapist. Agreed about your basic point though.

Another factor is that most legit psychotherapists have extensive medical backgrounds, and can prescribe medication (MD's). Where as many life coaches have PHD's bought off the internet, or a certificate from an Athony Robbins seminar. . . very different things.
