Hello Everyone,

This is just a short message to let you know that Professor Joe Moreira will be teaching a one-day seminar and giving a promotion ceremony at the Harris Academy in San Diego, CA on Saturday, February 9, 2008, from 11am to 2pm. The cost to attend the seminar portion will be $30. The focus of the seminar will be on "Passing the Guard: Smashey Style" !

At the end of the seminar (around 1:30pm), Professor Moreira will hold a brief "promotion" ceremony - where someone we know will be promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt.

Following the seminar and promotion ceremony (for those of you who have time), we will take Professor Moreira out for lunch. We'll hang out and chat with him about life in Brazil, the developments he's seen in Jiu Jitsu, surfing and whatever else comes to mind.

For more information on my instructor's background, please take a look here:

I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Sincerely,

Roy Harris

P.S. If you'd like to witness "yours truly" get HANDLED by his instructor, you won't want to miss this seminar!

After reading your instructors credentials I understand why you used the word "handled".

InvisiblePinkUni, Thanks for the kind words! It does say in the description (http://www.jiujitsudebrazil.com/BJJInstructors%20JOE.htm) WHO gave Joe his black belt. At the start of paragraph two, it reads, "Reylson Gracie awarded Moreira his black belt in 1984." ------- fishluv, If you had ever grappled with me and had me turn up the pressure, you'd wonder how someone whom I outweigh by 50 pounds would be able to handle this pressure. Professor Moreira handles it very well ! What I think is funny is he calls me as his "Smashey" training partner! ------- demandango, Thanks! While I have other black belts and instructor certifications, this will be my highest rank achieved! It will be an honor to once again to be Professor Moreira's highest ranked American student. I hope people take advantage of the seminar. I would love to train with your instructor someday, although I don't know if I could handle the pressure. Congratulations on your promotion. Seamus
