So, the zombie book thread is clearly not displaying any new entries in it.
I'm submitting this thread as a continuation of that thread, because the subject is just too awesome to die.

I used the thread as a Christmas list and got 5 new zombie books for XMas!
Zombie Island/Nation/Planet
World War Z
City of the Dead (need to find The Rising first)

WWZ was excellent, I thought. My wife was intrigued and actually read her first zombie novel. I think she's starting to catch on to the seriousness of the issue.

Oh yes. In fact, I read it regularly to my 7 year old nephew and give him pop quizzes.

"When the zombies come, where are you going to go?"
"Grandma's house."
"Why Grandma's house?"
"She has well water and we can smash the staircase and hide upstairs."
"Good man. Are you going to warn everyone you know?"
"No, because they'll buy all the food and guns."

That little dude will be the Zombipocolypse's John Connor.

Willybone - LOL that is awesome! I can't wait until my nephew is old enough to be indoctrinated. I'm going to pick up WWZ at lunch.

I just finished "Monster Island". I really enjoyed it, and it's a pretty engaging novel, but I still think WWZ is the "more realistic" zombie book.

WWZ is bad ass. I want to read some older books like Autumn and Day by Day Armageddon.

I was not impressed at all with Monster Nation. I didn't read Island, though.

I think Nation would be more enjoyable if you read Island first. I'm almost done with Planet now, and I'm liking it. As the series goes on, it becomes less of a zombie novel and more fantasy/magic apocalypse, but I'm enjoying the ride.

If that's your take, don't read Planet. You'd hate it.

Dead Sea is dumb. Just read it and that book did not need to be written.

I actually liked Dead Sea a lot. I think Keene's writing is top notch and his characters are awesome. I flew through Dead Sea in one sitting.
