Mick, do you agree with the philosophy of Newcastle United, in that they should always be seen to be playing exciting football regardless? It's all well and good playing exciting football IMO, but it ain't much good if you can't win anything. All that matters IMO is that the team wins.

DJ, please can you elaborate on your point that Keegan had 'spectacularly fucked up' this job in the past? And Joe, it's not just about having a team that plays good football it's about having a team that looks like they want to play and know what they're doing. Sam was a disaster.

Newcastle's league finishes under Keegan: 91/92 Old Div 2 - 20th (Came in and saved us from relegation)
92/93 Div 1 - 1st
93/94 Prem - 3rd
94/95 Prem - 6th
95/96 Prem - 2nd
96/97 Prem - 2nd (He left halfway through this season) If that's spectacularly fucking up a job I'll take that over Opta stat orientated long ball shite everyday.

Yeah he spent a lot of money but so have a lot of managers who didn't come close to reaching the levels Newcastle did then. I don't see how he "spectacularly fucked up" anything. To take a team from the brink of relegation to the old 3rd division to 3 points from winning the Premier League in 4 years isn't bad if you ask me.
