Just getting ready to cut weight for my fight this weekend and was wondering how much sodium I would be allowed.I'm drinking distilled water and other then oatmeal in the morning the only sodium I am getting is with 3 protein shakes a day. So my total sodium a day is 470mg. Is this ok or should I cut anything out. Right now Oatmeal is the only carbs I'm getting right now

Cutting water weight has alot to do with your body composition which is determined by your diet 6 weeks out from the fight, water loading for a week before the fight....and finally genetics. Its not a simple answer. Sodium will impact water retention / loss. The others mentioned above, have alot more of an effect on ones water loss for weighins Joe M
