I am just figuring out the whole photobucket thing so I thought I would post some pictures. These are from a class I taught this past weekend in Camden TN.

wtf is wrong with those people pointing there rifles in the air it's bad enough they look like charlies angles but WHAT GOES UP MUST COME DOWN they should either be slung over their shoulders or be pointing down (low ready)

When working in and around another person (ie team tactics training) one is infinitely more likely to sweep there partner when in a low ready.

When in a stack shooter two can be on target faster when shooter one peels off if he was in high ready instead of low ready or slung. Again he is also less likely to sweep his teammate(s).

When weapon manipulations are performed muzzle up the shooter naturally will keep their head and eyes up. When weapon manipulations are performed muzzle down the shooter naturally will keep their head and eyes down.

When multiple shooters are shooting from multiple positions as a single unit (ie one standing / one kneeling) muzzle down would be unsafe for one shooter whereas muzzle up would be unsafe for the other.

It is funny to listen to a Navy SEAL and an Army SF guy argue over muzzle up or muzzle down. The answer for them may be that if you ride around in rubber boats you should keep your muzzle up. If you ride around in a helicopter you should keep you muzzle down.

What that means for everyone else is that the situation dictates the tactics. You are right that what goes up must come down but many times up is the only safe direction.
